Toujours la Musique!
Brian first became involved with musical theatre in 1975, when he conducted some rehearsals for and then played percussion in the St Mary's Hospital Medical School Christmas production of "The Gondoliers". Since then he has been very busy as a pianist, percussionist, repetiteur, arranger and musical director.
Brian has musically directed well over 50 musical shows during the past 17 years, working with some of London's more prestigious operatic societies, including London Theatre Players and Wimbledon Light Opera, both at the Wimbledon Theatre, as well as with a considerable number of companies both in his home county of Surrey and in neighbouring Sussex.
As well as musical shows, Brian is keenly involved with "pure" music: his interests include keyboard improvisation, baroque and classical music, ragtime and traditional jazz. In addition to piano, orchestral percussion and kit drums, Brian plays the pipe organ, accordion and synthesizer. He has long been interested in the use of computers in music, and uses them both for musical experimentation, and to arrange, orchestrate and print much of the material used in his musical revues.
