What is Banana Republicanisim and Bush Wars?
A Short Intro.
Banana Republic. A small country (especially in Central
America) that is politically unstable and whose economy is dominated by
foreign companies and depends on one export (such as bananas)
Bush War:-
This term was used to refer to some low intensity war occurring in a country that's land mass is mainly undeveloped to rural. Alternatively, it was a conflict by proxy between the Super Powers. For example Vietnam, Afghanistan in the 1980s, numerous Central American wars.
Junta:-
A Spanish word referring to the governing group or committee running a
country following a military or rebel coup.
A Board game originally by West End Games based around a the corrupt
government machinations is some post revolutionary Banana Republic.
Banana Republic Wargaming.
A Quasi-Historical form of Wargaming. Often in a campaign format, where the players take on the parts of various factions vying for control in a Banana Republic in a very vague period of "somewhere in the 1960/70s" in the very nebulous place of "Somewhere in Africa/Central America/Asiatic Rim*"(delete 2 as applicable)
