![]() Children in archaeology are catered for by the Young Archaeologists Clubs, of which there are 40 or so up and down the country, co-ordinated by the Council for British Archaeology. These are not to everyone's taste - they tend to engage in pottery making and basket weaving rather than doing any excavation, but they vary very much according to the enthusiasms of the person running them. Note in particular the Central Southern England branch at Bagshot, in Surrey. This is rather bigger than the rest, having it own premises in an old police station and it provides activities to children over a wide area. It also runs British Archaeological Students as a facility for students aged 16 or over. Click here for the list of the Young Archaeologists Clubs, maintained on the CBA server.
