Why not download some new ring tones for your 702 (only suitable if you have an 0973 number).

Improve the sound quality of your phone by keying in some new codes...

Download some new ringtones

You can only download new ringing tones for your 702 if your Orange number starts 0973.

Set smsc to +358405202999 (Finland) send a message with the word tones to number 99999, when you get the reply, edit the message so that the tone you want does not have a asterisk in front of it. Now send the message back to 99999, the phone will then display NEW RING TONE RECEIVED.

Currently using a foreign SMSC does not cost anything on Orange irrespective of your Orange number

Another site that I have just recently found at http://www.excellence.co.za/# also allows you to download the following :-

The Ring Tone Jukebox (Nokia 6110, 8110i, 8810, 9000i and 9110 only)

Send an SMS to +27829903526 in the following format:
rt*(Code)
Example: To receive Track Two (Theme from "Baywatch"), my SMS message would read
rt*bayw

Further details about the Ring Tones are available by clicking on the Track No's.

Please note: Only ONE Ringing tone can be downloaded. Each time you download a new tone
it will replace the old one. You must send the SMS message from your own phone as the
system replies to the origin of the SMS. You cannot, therefore, send from the SMS services
available on the Vodacom Website. Any questions, comments or requests please email the
Webmaster.

This is a pilot scheme and may not be available at ALL times.

Improve your 702 sound quality

Apparently a  software upgrade to the Orange network was made and EFR was
officially made live on the 26th April. So all nk702 users out there should
switch it on by keying in :-

*3370# Activate EFR
#3370# Deactivate EFR

Apparently although Orange made this live, One To One have beaten them to an official announcement.

EFR = Enhanced Full Rate (sound)
So what is EFR?

EFR technology is the first major speech quality breakthrough since the
introduction of digital mobile technology. It means that calls made on EFR
compatible phones are comparable to fixed wire calls. It makes voices sound
clearer and as a consequence the nuances of a conversation are more easily
picked up so that mobile calling is more like talking face to face.

This improvement is achieved through the use of sophisticated digital signal
processing methods which are better able to reproduce certain components of
the human voice than the current coding.

Speech coding is the process by which speech is transformed into digital
format and compressed to a low data rate. Its implementation ensures the
most efficient use of available spectrum. EFR takes advantage of the
advances made during the past few years in signal processing technology and
speech coding algorithms to provide enhanced speech quality within the same
bandwidth as for full rate speech coding.
