From the FT dial tone simply enter :-

At the dial tone press *21

Capabilities

You will be connected directly to Scoot (formerly Freepages) where you can quickly access the number for your local Italian restaurant, weather, the closest drycleaner, or any other service you need to find quickly.

 

Speed Dial Services

At the dial tone press *3 followed by a number 0 through to 9.

You are allowed to store 10 speed dial numbers

User Services

At the dial tone press *4 followed by

1 for Speed dial Registration
To program phone numbers into your speed dial memory, and replace them with a convenient single digit access code.
2 for Speed dial memory list
followed by speed dial location
3 Enable/disable balance announcement
4 Enable/disable last call cost announcement
5 Enable/disable speed dial destination announcement
# To exit

Exit and return to dial tone

 

Rather than hanging up after a phone call, customers can press the "#" button and be returned to dial tone in order to make their next call. Just prior to dial tone, however, there is a brief "Last Call" recording which states both the cost of the previous call as well as the amount of credit remaining in the customer's account. With Star Services, these "Last Call Cost" and "Account Balance Remaining" statements can be disabled by the Residential customer.

It is important to note that many answer phone services which our customers may reach utilise the "#" key in order to offer local PBX services (e.g. "Press "#" to leave a message."). In these cases:

1.Enter "*" after the destination number and before you hear ringing tone (be quick)

2.Press "#" for at least 2 seconds to get back to the FT dial tone.

When this extended 2 second hash tone is picked up by First Telecom, the customer is returned to dial tone. If the tone is less than two seconds, the # tone is sent as normal.
