Currently, I am a member of CoB (CiX Old Bastards - formed when most of the old guard in the CiX Clan broke away), which is participating in Season 7 of the UKCL. Traz's site, and the CoB HomePage are generally better bets for keeping up with CoB news, though there is a UKCL season7 section.

Below are the Clans that i used to play for..

CiX Clan:
After a good showing in the MCW and UKCL, the CiX clan fell apart. It had become one of the best clans in the country, and had racked up an impressive array of prizes, but the strain eventually proved too much and it ruptured. The information shown below was written just before the demise of CiX. The 1998 MCW Cup results are still up for those who want to see the high water-mark of CiX's success (very few, if any, other clans have done undefeated winning streaks in division1)..

The CiX Clan is one of the oldest UK clans. I joined it in April 1998, and have since become one of its longest serving members. In the past, the CiX clan was exclusivly for people who were users of CiX (Compulink Information eXchange), a conferencing system turned ISP, although nowerdays most of CiX Clan's members are not. Many of those who were have moved on to CoB (CiX old Bastards).

CiX Clan started its life as TeamQuake, which was a League that was internal to CiX. This was back in the days of DosQuake, when there was none of the internet-optimised QuakeWorld we are all used to today. TeamQuake started sometime around September 1996 and lasted until around late-January 1997.

At the moment, the CiX Clan are in Division1 of the MCW. After being relegated to Division2, CiX fought back and not only came first in division2, they were promoted to Division1 for last season and won it outright, without defeat. In the UKCL, in which CiX are also in Division1, all but 1 match was won. Although coming joint first on games won, CiX came in 2nd place overall because of a lower death-kill ratio (Ironically, CiX was the only team that the overall winner did not defeat).

Clan Nasty:
While Clan Nasty technically still exists, it isn't really active anymore. The CiX Clan (above) served as a warning against adopting a win-at-all-costs strategy, but Clan Nasty is a warning against the opposite extreme: The Clan was so laid back it rarely practiced. Its members were nice people, but as far as leagues were concened, it was unsustainable - one of the reason i (perhaps a little selfishly) decided to join the CiX Clan.

Red Clan:
Evolved from the days of TeamQuake (a Quake league internal to the CiX ISP). It never really got off the ground, partly because back then connects over the internets were nowhere near as good as they are now (this was long before QuakeWorld). Most of its members have joined Clan Nasty.
