We are not NIMBY's, while some of us do live there but many also use the area for the pleasure of seeing nature in control. We hope that in this supposedly enlightened period that the value of nature is being recognised. If this site were to be considered for development today, we feel that it's true value would not be ignored. Please help us to bring about a halt to this destruction, send us any advice, interest or whatever, please contact us via email.
We have consistently supported the retaining of land in the current state, despite the blanket planning permission granted over this area as part of the new town and the accepting of a local plan that specified the area as being for development. There was always the chance that a developer would appear and take up the availablilty. This time is right now, but we believe the retaining of the lands current natural state should override the building of 700 houses and light industry, especially when the are so many 'Brownfield' sites creating dereliction and nuisances in the county.
We have provided a web text copy of our report on the site, please follow the links at the bottom of this page for it. There are photographs of the site in our report, we will supplement them on here soon. (late 1998) Please note that due to copyright problems we have not included copies of the maps. If more information is required, please email us and we will let you know more about the location.
