CUBA CYCLE RIDE IN SUPPORT OF THE NATIONAL DEAF CHILDREN'S SOCIETY (NDCS)

General Stuff About Me

...note to self...must really improve my html skills, you can't really get away with this sort of thing anymore can you...

Age, er, the Ultimate Answer to Life, the Universe and Everything, still about 5'11'' tall and still about as thin as anyone could reasonably wish to be.

I work for a noted Inner London local authority, having excaped the clutches of a Housing Association who bushwhacked me from my previous noted Inner London local authority. What does the coveted post of Customer Services and Performance manager involve, you may ask? Well mainly it seems to involve fiddling about with Microsoft Access databases just at present, which is just the way I like it

I used to play in a variety of bands such as The Looking Glass, the Driven and the Irresistible Urges, that's all receded into the past now and althought I did buy a midi keyboard & some software i haven't really had time or space to get to grips with it yet..

I go to the gym every now and again but mostly I exercise by riding my bike very fast around London which has the advantage of saving money on fares as well as being pretty satisfying in itself. (You need a smog mask though to deal with the traffic fumes)

I used to be quite active in politics but the current state of the labour movement fills me with such despair that I'm not involved presently. I got sort of hopeful when the Socialist Alliance started up but their unaccountably poor showing was a bit of a disappointment

I like going to the cinema, in particular Tarkovsky, Godard, Hal Hartley, Jim Jarmusch and all that sort of gubbins. I've been sort of trying to come to terms with opera over the last few years but I haven't got very far past "Cosi fan Tutte". Not that that's a bad place to be, of course...

So, as I say, not a great deal occurring here just now, but watch this space...not too often...
