Timetable

The timetable for the Draw is driven by the date of the draw, which is in the middle of December each year.

Ideally, we like to know who is participating in the draw by the end of June. After that it is difficult for local parties to make decisions because so many people are on holiday, and by September it is getting very late to join in - We have to order the tickets from the printer in August so that we can distribute them to participating local parties at Federal Conference in September. (This saves postage costs.)

  1. By end of June, Order your tickets.
  2. Around Autumn Conference time, collect the tickets you have ordered from our conference stand (or we can mail them to you at your cost before or after conference)
  3. ASAP after conference, send out tickets to your members with a covering letter (sample).
  4. Around beginning of November, send out a reminder letter to everyone you sent tickets to.
  5. During last two weeks of November, receive stubs and money from your members. Send the stubs, plus a cheque equal to the value of the tickets (i.e. £1 per stub) back to us in up to three batches (max).
  6. Around the beginning of January, receive your cheque from us. This will be for at least 55% of the face value tickets you sold, but could be more if you sell a lot of tickets. (See the formula.) The remainder of the money goes towards the by-election fighting fund, the prizes, the printing of tickets, and the local parties who sponsor the draw by lending it money and providing the people who make up draw team.
