Jenny

in her other passion - skydiving! Soon to be leaving the U.K. for the shores of the
U.S.A., but until then can be contacted via email at jmbush@dav.cummins.com.
Kim Cheeseman - ??? (Leamington Triads)
Zoe
Chester - Forward (Northampton
/ Wahine Warriors)
"The Wahine Wookie"
Known affectionately by her Northampton team mates as "The Zoe Monster" and
that's exactly what she is when you come up against her in the water! A member of the GB
Womens Elite at the 1998 World Championships, she is now GB Womens Elite Manager and
womens co-ordinator for the Eastern and Central area. Can be contacted via email at kdunkinson@compuserve.com.
Jane
Fahy (nee Sloan) - Centre Back (Slough
/ Wahine Warriors)
"The Wahine Witch"
Represented New Zealand from 1987 to 1992 in the World Championships, and won a gold medal
in the 1988 Championships. Followed that up with a bronze medal in the 1999 European
Championships in Slovenia as captain of the UK Womens Elite team. As you can imagine,
there is no stopping Jane during a game. But also be beware of her out of the water -
especially when she teams up with Gilly Spencer - nothing and no-one is sacred! Can be
contacted via email at fahy@ukgateway.net.
Helen
Field - Back / Midfield (Dunstable).
"The Wahine Wench"
From her team mates at Dunstable: "She likes soldiers and northern Octopush
players, Newcastle Brown Ale and tattoos her mum hasn't yet seen (the tattoo was spotted
shortly afterwards...). She only plays on the wall side which means if one side is roped
off after half time there is chaos".
From her Wahine Warriors team mates: "Has a mad passion for anything vaguely male
(and German). Strikes most effectively when teamed with her other half (Becky), both in
and out of the water. These two will leave men begging for more, and are bound to cause
uproar at the Euros". Her delicate appearance belies her goalscoring abilities,
and even more so her "party animal" abilities, as she has oft demonstrated!
Playing for the GB Elite in the 1999 European Championships. Helen can be contacted via
email at helen.field@natmags.co.uk.
Ally
Galashan - Back (Dunstable)
"The Wahine Wino"
From her former team mates at TURG in South Africa: "AKA 'The Yellow Submarine' -
a formidable player in and out of the water". Is that nickname because of her
bottom time or her yellow cozzie perchance? Also known to her Wahine Warriors team mates
as The Wahine Wino, "because she likes a wee dram".
Sara
Grenside - Right Forward (Chesham / London Ladies).
Sara is by day a nurse tutor at the University of Hertfordshire, teaching National
Vocational Qualifications. Sara recently finished five years of studying for a BA Hons in
Healthcare Studies, and is delighted to have her life back again. Also plays for the UK Barbarians and the GB Womens Masters
and brought home a bronze medal from the 1998 World Championships in San Jose, California.
Sara can be contacted via email at clanger@cix.co.uk.
Sam
Harding - ??? (Islington)
Justifiably proud of her nickname of "The Octopush Tart", Sam has played for
most teams under the sun at one time or another . . . often in the same tournament. Oops,
we didn't say that . . .
Allison
Hass - Forward / Back (Wahini Warriors)
"The Wahine Wanderer"
The "travelling member" of the Wahine Warriors, Allison is normally a forward,
but has taken a position in the backline for the Warriors. First Nationals game in
England - totally enjoyable. Funny accent that sounds suspiciously Australian.
Has played in a few teams around the world for the land down-under.
Mary
Harrington - Back (Watford
/ London Ladies).
A formidable defender, and project engineer for Martin Baker, maker of aeroplane ejector
seats. A member of the GB Womens Masters at the 1998 World Championships. Also plays for
the UK Barbarians.
Pauline Head - Left Wing (Watford).
A keen horse rider, and mother of two young children, Pauline is known to her colleagues

A industrial chemist living in Dereham, Norfolk, and a member of the GB Ladies
Elite at the 1999 European Championships, Ann can be contacted via email on ann-hutchinson@norwich.rhone-poulenc.com.
Naomi Jones - ??? (ex-Watford? - check with Zoe)
Michelle
Kwok - Back / Forward (Northampton)
"The Wahine Wok"
A vet specialising in small animals, Michelle is now becoming quite an animal in
the water! A direct descendent of Henry Ford, she was once prepared to play any position
as long as it's BACK, but has now broadened her scope dramatically and played forward very
successfully for the GB Womens Masters at the European Championships in Slovenia. Her
Wahine Warriors nickname of "The Wahine Wok" keeps almost being renamed to
"The Wahine Wedgie" due to the positioning of her costume. From her GB Masters
team mates: "A real 'positive' force to have as part of the team".
Valerie
Lofty - Right Wing (Watford / London Ladies).
From her team mates at London Ladies: "Don't pinch her spot in the shower - if
you're lucky, you will live to regret it! Her skinny dips start here. Oh, and don't try
pinching the puck - it won't work". AKA "Clean-Knickers Lofty"
- so what's the story behind that one?
Valerie is a keen horse rider and a partner in "Croxley Divers" dive shop.
Croxley Divers can be contacted on 01923 777700, via fax on 01923 896299 or via email at dla@croxleydivers.co.uk.

when she f**king turns up!".
Played left forward for the UK Masters at the 1999 European Championships, and from her GB
Masters team mates: "Great to have her power, speed and sheer determination . . .
and she knows how to have fun!"
Tracey
Spencer - Forward (Slough)
Cheryl
Thompson - ??? (Northampton
/ Wahine Warriors)
Lively and passionate member of any team she plays for. Enjoys a good scrap and usually
wins it too!
Liz Tunstall - ??? (Birmingham)
Becky
Yates - Centre (Dunstable)
"The Wahine Wallflower"
From her Wahine Warriors team mates: "Our fast centre, half of the Dreadful Duo
with the Wahine Wench, and a member of the UK Elite Squad for the 1999 European
Championships", and from one particular fellow Warrior - no prizes for guessing
who! - "Known "affectionately" as WIDE Arse by the general public, and
has men queuing up at her door (trying to escape her lack of charm!). Beer quaffing,
Reading-born, crap-dancing, wide-arsed sex beast . . .". How can anyone follow
that?
Jill Berryman - Forward (London Ladies).
Now no longer
, she recently had an Octobab called Daisy. The
future of the London Ladies is assured . . .
Lisa
Charlebois - Forward (London Ladies).
Comes from Canada, studying Media Studies at Ryerson University in Toronto. In the UK on a
school exchange until August, started playing Octopush in February, and is not looking
back! Can be contacted via email at w9828047@wmin.ac.uk.
Sue
Coles - Wing / Forward (London Ladies / Putney).
From her team mates at London Ladies: "Chief mischief-maker, skinny-dipper
extraordinaire, and party-maker - what more could we want? Oh, yes, she also collects the
money, organizes the pool, and generally runs the club effortlessly. Age and treachery are
definitely on her side . . .". Vice Captain of the GB Womens Masters at the 1998
World Championships. Can be contacted via email at hf.frdg.ho.hh@gtnet.gov.uk.

contacted via email at marion.creser@dresdenerrcm.co.uk.
Sue
Davies - Centre Back (London Ladies / Putney)
From her team mates at London Ladies: "Only half the player she used to be -
previous weight has been transferred from frame to f***ing amazing play. She's
self-contained, self-motivated, yet a great team player, and essential as Captain at all
major tournaments". Captained the Great Britain Womens Team in the 1998 World
Championships in San Jose. Can be contacted via email at sue.davies@cwcom.co.uk.

her excellent positional play, and her ability to not lose possession under pressure.
Kirsty Langley - Forward (London
Ladies)
From her team mates at London Ladies: "Belisha Beacon, and the next
British astronaut - well, when she finally finishes studying! A great player, and head and
shoulders over everyone else, but at a mere hint of embarrassment she goes red - redder
than you've ever seen before! Please don't quiz her further - it gets even redder."
Nikki McNish - ??? (ex-London Ladies)

and found at Crystal Palace playing for the Eagles.
Mary
Nunn - Wing (London Ladies / Palace Eagles)

Ladies. Looking forward to helping the womens game progress in this country and womens
masters internationally." Mary was a member of the GB Womens Masters at the 1998
World Championships and the 1999 European Championships, and is also the womens
co-ordinator for London and the GB Womens Masters Manager. In the words of her GB team

'made' the trip. Keep it up Mary, we love you!" Can be contacted via email at mary.nunn@uk.pwcglobal.com.

fair amount of experience now.
Barbara
Silva - Forward (London Ladies)
From her team mates at London Ladies: "First player to transfer for a fee of more
than two pints - Heston eat your heart out! She now knows there are rules, positions, and

flying colours".
