Cunnane Town Planning provided an initial appraisal, advised and assisted in site assembly and successfully negotiated for a major site to be identified for residential development in the Harrogate District Local Plan.
Outline planning permission was achieved, followed by detailed consent for residential development including two acres of affordable housing and sports pitches for the new development and the area generally. Significant issues included a neighbouring SSSI, design considerations for an edge-of-settlement site, highways and great crested newts, for which a mitigation strategy was negotiated with the Council in consultation with English Nature.
