A wedding day photo 22nd June 1991

We were married at Crewe Registry Office, Cheshire at 13:20 on Saturday 22nd June 1991...the day before my birthday ( as if I would forget :-) ) and was timed to let the staff of Crewe Library attend !

Our five day honeymoon was spent in Toronto ( with a trip to Niagara of course ) and then from Vancouver to Calgary over the Rockies via Brewster coaches.

I was born on the 23rd June and am currently in my 40s - once I had thick ginger hair now its very much receded and is mostly white but I still have freckles and (currently) a bushy white beard again A passport photo of dis

Prior to University, I attended William Hulme's Grammar School

I hold a B.Sc. in Physics and Computer Science from the University of Manchester and an M.Sc. in Computing for Commerce and Industry from the Open University.

On 3rd May 1997 I received my Masters degree at Preston Guildhall...after seeing this photo I went onto a long term diet !

I work as an Analyst/Programmer for Micros Travel ( formerly RedSky IT formerly Ramesys Solutions for Travel formerly ICC Travel Systems Ltd ) where I led a team which developed Concord for Windows ( a back-office system for Travel Agencies ) and am currently in the team developing the next generation solution Concord Traveller in Borland Delphi 5 and based around the Advantage database system

Until April 1997 I was employed as a 'Senior Software Engineer' for the Energy Conservation/Building Controls division of Thorn Security Ltd. ( which is now owned by Tyco International ) working on controls and display systems for buildings or estates. Initially I was a member of the JEL-Danfoss team developing JELSTAR II on the H-P 1000 and then moved up to be team leader of the JELNET system which was not only a graphical Energy Management system but included over 30 utilities including a graphical form editor JELDRAW and database query tools to identify energy waste and aid localisation of energy management rules. JELNET has been used in many buildings, councils and companies e.g. the UK pavilion at Expo 92, the Forth Rail Bridge, the London Ark, National Power and has been used in Malaysia, Singapore, Saudi Arabia and many european countries. One of the last Thorn products I was involved with was the MICRO2000

My first job ( 1984-7 !!) was writing embedded control software for large high-security printing machines for McCorquodale Machine Systems in Crewe, Cheshire
