Places I have visited

Jersey

Jersey is the largest of the Channel Islands, situated in the English Channel close to the French coastline near St. Malo During the 1920s my father & his parents lived on Jersey and cousins still live there.

Calgary

Calgary held the Winter Olympics in 1988 but is most famous for the Calgary Stampede. If you're ever lucky enough to be in Alberta, Canada in early July don't miss this spectacle. Some of my mother's cousins lived here, but we lost touch in the 1970s...

Vancouver

Home of the X-Files and of the new Dr. Who film this is a wonderful city of the ultra modern & old stylish touches. Just walk around or catch the ferry to Victoria or a Greyhound bus through the Canadian Rockies.

Cuzco

A superb place as a base for visiting the Inca sites of Peru e.g. Sacsayhuaman, Pisac and Macchu Picchu.

Lima

The bustling capital of Peru.

Xian

The base for Empress Wu and an ancient capital of China. From here its a short ( relatively short ) way to the Terracotta Warriors.

Sri Lanka

Full of history and life. Polonnaura and the Lion Rock especially though Kandy, Columbo & Nuwara Elia are fascinating.

Maldives

Relaxation, clear warm water, coral reefs, fishes of myriad hues... Landing at the airport at Male is unforgettable. I visited Hudhuveli in July 1990 and we visited Bodufinolhu (Fun Island) in July 1997.
