Matters Arising
Make poverty history: It was agreed to see how we could support this campaign.
Correspondence
Stuart highlighted the Anti-SATs Alliance leaflet. It was decided that we buy some (number to be determined by Officers) to send to schools.
Education in the era of globalisation – funding for Chris Cheetham, Dennis White, James Dean and Dave Ramsden to attend: £52 each for train fare and entrance fee.
NUT National Education Conference in Nottingham – weekend of 2 nd & 3 rd July - will be publicised in the newsletter.
Reports & Discussion
John Howarth presented the basis for strike action over seriously worsening pension proposals. It was suggested that more support be given for meetings in school.
Jane presented this year’s school budgets.
John explained that the training for Heads about PPA time is merely a list of legal possibilities and that they are told to go back and see what they can do within their budgets.
Amendments for Conference
It was agreed to prioritise the 5 that were presented.
Meeting closed at 6.30 when a curry was served to those who could stay.
