Bradford ’s Director of Education, John McCleod, has written to all Headteachers emphasising the importance of following the local conditions of service regarding the 1265 hours of directed time.

The letter points out to Heads that they need to

• Publicise holiday dates and the allocation of the 1265 hours for 12 months in advance, at least one week before the end of the summer term
• Consult with trade union representatives on the proposed time budget allocation and events.

Make sure that consultation with unions happens in your school, and that you have a calendar before the end of term.
