Traveller : The Story So Far

Volume 2

Our Heroes (254-1117)

Natasha Alexevich (Yvonne Barker) - Solomani Navy Lt Commander/SolSec 2nd Lt.

John Matrix (Sean Rowan) - Solomani Army Commando Major/SolSec Team Leader.

Eric Erikson (Tim Kirk) - Belt miner, currently attached to the Solomani Army on Agidda/Sol

Prologue

Returning from a successful undercover mission behind enemy lines, Alexevich and her team reach Agidda/Sol, which has recently fallen to the advancing Solomani forces. After being debriefed, Agents Eriksson, Kelly, Mole and Webster are sent for further training, whilst Matrix and Alexevich wait for a ship to take them back home.

Session 1: In The Army Now

254-1117

While waiting for a ship, our heroes are sent on a mission to find the leader of the local resistance, Colonel Gregory Anderson, Imperial Army Intelligence, and terminate with extreme prejudice. Matrix buys an inflatable gorilla. The pair (trio?) borrow an air/raft, and head off into the jungle towards an Army base near where Anderson was last seen. They arrive shortly after, to find the camp totally destroyed. They rescue (and recruit) Eric, and question one of the other four survivors, who claims to have seen what looked like "a giant scaly Aslan on steroids".

255

After sleeping and reloading Matrix's golf-bag, a trail is found leading into the jungle. A couple of booby-traps are found, the second of which is detonated by Matrix. This summons a sensor drone, which leaves after finding Matrix's gorilla. Soon after, our heroes find a couple of guards. Natasha and Eric get shot at, and Matrix kills one and captures the other. A bit further along is a village, with a radioactive house. After discovering the radiation comes from a fusion reactor, they leave. They let Matrix do the navigating, and end up going in a big circle, returning to the first village. Natasha interrogates the prisoner, and seems to get an enormous amount of information out of the phrase "F*ck you!" After a...

Session 2:

[TEXT MISSING DUE TO DISK CRASH]

258-1117

Our heroes find a town where they think Anderson's HQ might be. They leave, and later find a Solomani Army camp.

259

The trio sneak into town and break into the radar station. They capture a radar operator and escape. They question the prisoner, and discover that the HQ is in the temple. Going back into the town, they are seen and shoot their way into the temple. They capture and question a guard. Down in the basement, our heroes find an ammo store and a guard in battle dress, (who they kill). After failing to find Anderson, they leave, putting the temple into orbit as they go. On the way back to the Army base, they bump into Anderson and some of his men in air/rafts - there follows a fire-fight, in which all but one of the men are killed. Anderson, of course, escapes. Return to Army base.

260

Natasha interrogates the prisoner. There are three possible places Anderson could be hiding - a village to the Northwest, a town to the Northeast, or a town to the South. Also, Anderson is pretending to be Hirok, a local, mythical, Robin Hood/King Arthur-type character (and may be psionic). Rig up a psi-shield for the prisoner

Our Heroes (261-1117)

Natasha Alexevich (Yvonne Barker) - Solomani Navy Lt Commander/SolSec 2nd Lt.

John Matrix (Sean Rowan) - Solomani Army Commando Major/SolSec Team Leader.

Katrina Vandermeyer (Mark Lavery) - Solomani Army Colonel.

Matthew Conrad (Ed Allison) - SolSec agent.

Session 3: White Light/White Heat

261-1117

Returning from a successful mission, Conrad is assigned as backup for our heroes, and is sent down to the Army base. He is met by Colonel Vandermeyer, who has been ordered to look after the SolSec agents and make sure they don't get into too much trouble. Eric, meanwhile, has decided he's had enough, and has escaped. Matrix plays with an inflatable grav-tank, and Natasha gets all sweaty in the gym.

When shown a photo, Vandermayer recognises Anderson as someone she saw at the base that morning - panic! A search party finds his empty grav-car a few klicks away. Watch a security video, and see him stealing a nuke - more panic! Go to NE town. Break into the Town Hall, frighten a few Civil Servants, and wipe out the police force. Interrogate people, but learn nothing. Give up and go to the S town. Capture a bar, and interrogate the customers. Discover that Anderson/Hirok is at the other village, and leave. Reach the village. Send in scouts, who die. Vandermayer goes in.

262

Vandermayer fights a guard. Everyone goes "Eeek!", when the Solomani Army base is nuked, (Anderson armed one of the other nukes before he left). Find Anderson/Hirok. Kill him. Instantly regret it, as this starts the timer on the other nuke. Bring him back, but it doesn't help. Fail to defuse the bomb, but it conveniently "goes away" before it explodes. Probe Anderson, and discover he's a Solomani Army Intelligence agent who went a little mad. Decide not to kill him. Get rescued and go up to cruiser in orbit. Vandermayer takes over mission. Start psycho-analysing Anderson.

263

Continue psychoanalysing Anderson.

264

Still psychoanalysing Anderson. Sam Hassle arrives in-system, and Vandermayer commandeers her ship.

265

Psychoanalysing Anderson. Jump to Barnard/Sol.

266-271

In jump. Psychoanalysing Anderson.

272

Reach Barnard. Stopped by Solomani Navy.

273

Refuel.

274

Jump to Terra/Sol.

275

In jump. Psychoanalysing Anderson.

276

In jump. "Cure" Anderson. Start planning escape.

277-280

In jump.

281

Reach Terra. Contact people. Picked up by Navy.

282

Reach Phoenix Highport. Matrix goes shopping. Get gun permits etc. Go down to SolSec HQ. Hand over Anderson. Go to a bar. Chico Matrix, (Mrs), arrives, (with a grav tank). Chico & Matrix leave. Vandermeyer leaves. Sam goes to see a used-starship dealer and a gun smuggler. Natasha goes to find her husband. Anderson escapes. Everyone picked up and interrogated. Sam tells SolSec about the plan to help Anderson. Johnson is not happy. Vandermeyer calls a friend in a high place. Matrix released.

283

Sitting in cells.

284

All set free, (no explanation). Vandermeyer "retires" from the Army, and Natasha is discharged from the Navy.

*** DOWN TIME ***

Session 3a: Postcards From The Edge

310-1117

Natasha receives a mysterious letter, and asks Kiell and Matrix to help her "borrow" a starship. They find a yacht heading for Hephaistos /Gemini and book three staterooms.

311

Everyone goes aboard, and the yacht leaves. Kiell bores the crew senseless with his home-movies, and re-programs the Nav-Comp while they're distracted. Jump - but where to?

312

In Jump. Kiell shows everyone his new range of Kiell RandorTM merchandising, including the Kiell Fun PackTM and the Action KiellTM, (with Gripping Hands, and Eagle Eyes). Everyone locks themselves in their cabins.

313-317

In Jump.

318

Reach Shuruppak/Dingir. The Captain gets a little upset to discover they're on the wrong side of the border. He gets even more unhappy when Kiell, Matrix and Natasha walk onto the bridge wearing Imperial military uniforms. An Imperial Navy Cruiser turns up, but Natasha explains that they're a group of INI agents returning from an under- cover mission on Terra. Their IDs check out, so the Cruiser lets them go.

Our Heroes (319-1117)

Natasha Alexevich (Yvonne Barker) - SolSec 2nd Lt, (aka INI Captain Gail Knight).

John Matrix (Sean Rowan) - Solomani Army Commando Major/SolSec Team    Leader, (aka Imperial Marine Sergeant Mick Stylo).

Kiell Randor (Mark Lavery) - Solomani Marine Captain/SolSec Agent (aka Imperial Marine Force Commander).

Laly Kaylen (Ed Allison) - Chief Engineer on the yacht.

Session 4: Some Kind of Stranger

319

Refuel. Jump to Gashidda/Dingir. Kiell and Matrix find a crate of watermelons in the hold, and decide to see what happens when they throw them out of the air lock (!). Unfortunately, their puny brains can't cope with looking at Jump-Space, and they have to be rescued by Natasha. When they have recovered, she explains why they are going to Gashidda: the letter she received was an invitation from Alexander Delorean, (the man they had previously met during operation Harvest Moon (an earlier mission), who turns out to be a Colonel in the Imperial Regency of Intelligence and Security (IRIS). Kiell "looses" the door to the engine room, (twice), and blows up a vacc suit.

320-326

In Jump.

327

Reach Gashidda. A couple of SDBs come out to meet them. Explain that they were invited by Delorean, and suddenly people start being nice to them. Get rooms at the Naval Base. Laly goes hacking and finds out there's a Dreadnought with a VIP in-system.

328

Catch the shuttle to the Downport, (Kiell stows away). Taken to the Travellers' Aid Society building. Kiell & Matrix annoy the Manager. Go into the dining room and meet Delorean. Kiell only agrees not to kill him if he promises to give back the...er...items Delorean stole last time they met. Delorean gives him some forms to fill in, and tells everyone about a plot by a radical Solomani faction to use a variation of the Pandora virus to "cleanse" worlds - starting with Terra! Have lunch.

Session 5: Human Racing

328-1117

Kiell tries to persuade Delorean to promote him to Colonel so he can get some nukes, and everyone else goes back to the ship. Kiell finds a bunker, but can't get in, and ends up being deported. Ship leaves and jumps to Markhashi/Dingir.

329-334

In Jump.

335

Reach Markhashi. Stopped by a Cruiser, (again). Refuel.

336

Jump to Hephaistos/Sol. Laly re-programs the transponder/log to lie about where they've been.

337-342

In Jump.

343

Reach Hephaistos. Laly hacks into Starport computers and establishes their cover story, (i.e. they've been here all the time).

344-349

On holiday. [There's a bunch of madmen running around planning to wipe out the entire Human race, and what do the party do? Go on holiday! I sometimes wonder why I bother. -Ref]

350

Leave. Jump to Terra/Sol.

351-357

In Jump.

358

Reach Terra. Natasha has a little word with the captain of the Yacht, and the ship leaves system PDQ. Go to a bar. [Where else? -Ref]. Plot. Go to a hotel room, where they meet Mikhail, Natasha's other half, who seems to have a matter transmitter because they all end up in a house a few miles away. The house belongs to Commodore David Carter, (SolSec Colonel, ex-Solomani Naval attaché to Terra), who, along with his wife, are conveniently away at a meeting. The house contains a really flashy computer, which Laly uses to find some of Natasha's friends, (Matthew Conrad and Mary Webster II), and to get Kiell some nukes, (and then disguise the fact that she did any of this). Kiell is disappointed to discover that the nukes have a grav-tank attached, and he sells it back to the Marines after realising it won't fit in his golf-bag.

Some time later, Webster gets a message telling her to go to a bar at the Starport the next morning. At about the same time, on Luna, Conrad gets evicted from his hotel room and finds a grav-limo and a first-class ticket to Terra.

359

Conrad reaches Terra, and meets the others at Phoenix Downport, (Kiell, as usual, is lurking in the shadows somewhere). Laly gets a headache, and Kiell and Webster warmly embrace each other (by the throat). Everyone goes to hide in a conference room for a few hours, and Natasha explains the plot again.

Our Heroes (359-1117)

Natasha Alexevich (Yvonne Barker) - SolSec 2nd Lt.

John Matrix (Sean Rowan) - Solomani Army Commando Major/SolSec Team    Leader.

Kiell Randor (Mark Lavery) - Solomani Marine Captain/SolSec Agent.

Laly Kaylen (Tom Stradling) - Freelance hacker.

Matthew Conrad (Ed Allison) - SolSec agent.

Mary Webster II (Andrew Moreton) - SolSec agent.

Session 6: Cloak and Dagger

359-1117

Kiell hassles a civil servant and visits a pet shop, where he buys himself a tiger, (called Sher Khan). He meets Matrix, and the trio return to the Starport. Everyone goes back to David Carter's house, and Laly and Mikhail start hacking again. Kiell gives his nukes back, (after David threatens to have him shot, (by a meson gun!)). Keill and Webster have another difference of opinion. Laly gets bit sneaky and devious. They charter a shuttle, (under a false name), and fly up to Phoenix Highport, where they dock with a captured Imperial Gazelle-class Close Escort, (the Antelope). They bullshit their way aboard and commandeer the ship. Jump to Agidda/Sol.

360

Antelope in Jump. Kiell start getting all weird, mystical, and sinister. Laly starts forging herself a SolSec Colonel's ID.

361

Antelope in Jump. Kiell gets a lock of Laly's hair.

362-364

Antelope in Jump.

365

Antelope in Jump. Laly finishes ID.

001-1118

Antelope in Jump. Holiday.

002

Reach Agidda system. Stopped by a Destroyer and the Cruiser Bertram near the gas giant. Laly arranges a fuel scoop malfunction, and Kiell tries (unsuccessfully) to get some chickens. Leave for Agidda.

003

Reach Agidda. Transfer to Gig with Marines from Antelope. Marines pass out. Match vectors with Cruiser Telford and teleport aboard. Sneak around a bit. Kiell raids the galley and steals a frozen chicken. Break into Captain Z'dar's stateroom. Probe him, (to see if he knows about the plot) but find he isn't guilty enough to kill. Teleport back to Gig. Land at Downport, and all take Medical Slow Drug, (except Kiell, who goes out to catch a couple of alien "chickens").

004

All wake up. Tell the (confused) Marines that they've been on a secret mission. Return to the Antelope. Decide to go after Major Schaefer next, so Jump to Lagash/Sol.

005-010

Antelope in Jump.

011

Reach Lagash/Sol. Intercepted by the Battleship Joseph Stalin. More bullshitting, involving the forged ID. Transfer to the Stalin. Persuade the Captain to find Major Schaefer. Return to the Antelope to wait. Kiell plays with his chickens, and passes out.

012

Major Schaefer arrives, blacks out, and visits the dentist. Kiell sucks her brains out, but can't find any reason to kill her, so they let her go. Refuel. Jump back to Agidda.

013

Antelope in Jump. Natasha hypnotises the Medic to go mad the next time the ship jumps.

014-019

Antelope in Jump.

020

Reach Agidda. Stopped by Cruiser Bertram again. Reach Starport. Leave Antelope, and "borrow" another Close Escort, (the Star Goat). Leave.

021

Jump to Terra.

Session 7: "There's Nobody Here But Us Chickens!"

022-027

Star Goat in Jump.

028

Star Goat reaches the Terra system, just out from Venus. The party decide to hide on the Ancient site research station in Venus orbit for a while. The Cruiser Ashby apparently verifies their ID. When they dock, the guards give them some grief, so Kiell and Webster butcher them and they all storm the Command Centre. Kiell loots the main lab, and the Cruiser orders them to surrender. Kiell murders the crew of the Star Goat, and Natasha teleports everyone aboard the Ashby, and then blows the Close Escort's drives, in the name of "the Chicken Liberation Front". The total body count is sixty-seven.

029

Natasha teleports into the Captain's cabin and probes him.

Session 8: Falling to Earth

029-1118

Kiell rescues Matrix from the hold, (Natasha missed...), and they go for a tour of the ship. A shuttle containing a Space Accident Investigation Team docks, and everyone stows away, (except Kiell, who walks aboard). When they reach Terra, they pick a fight with a squad of Marines, and make a strategic withdrawal to a convenient locker room, (except Kiell again). Kiell helps SolSec with their enquiries, and "looses" his Ancient artefacts. Natasha posts the party (yes, she really does put them in packing crates and post them). Kiell goes to the TAS, Natasha goes to David's, Matrix goes home.

030

Kiell gets his stuff fixed and goes shopping. Laly goes shopping, too.

031

Kiell still shopping. Webster axe-murders a couple of muggers and annoys SolSec.

Session 9: Extreme Paranoia

031-1118

Webster gets a new suit of Battle Dress. Kiell remembers that there are a couple of eye-witnesses back on the Cruiser, and mentions them to Natasha, who, (after some complaining), goes to deal with them. She teleports aboard, hypnotises the Captain, and then wanders around for a few hours, making people forget things and causing "Solomani 'flu". When she's finished, she teleports back and hides in a Siberian snow-drift. Meanwhile, back on Terra, Kiell and Matrix kidnap, drug, and interrogate Lalie, Webster, and Conrad, (and then make them forget). When the trio wake up, they get extremely paranoid, which is confirmed when Kiell tells them what happened.

032

Matrix gets bored, so he blows up a Marine bar. Unfortunately, they catch him. Webster breaks another suit of Battle Dress trying to arrest him.

033

Webster gets yet another suit of Battle Dress. Matrix wakes up in hospital, (chained to the bed). Lalie collects her robot, (called Burn). Natasha comes home. Webster bullshits to SolSec, and gets a Fleet Courier. Conrad leaves, (remembering nothing). Everyone gets aboard, (Kiell and Matrix with an armed guard). Ship leaves. Jump to Ys.

Session 10:

034-1118
