Dear All,
The world is indeed a small place.
Until recently, l thought that l was related to
every Humpage in the United States.
I come from a far-flung clan of Humpages. Unsubstantiated family lore
has us originating in Birmingham, England. My grandfather left England as a
very young man after his father was killed.
He arrived in the coal mines near Pittsburgh, brought his mother over,
and eventually became a foreman. Later he moved to Cleveland. My cousins have sinced fanned
out across the country.
I am an economist with the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland and teach economics at area colleges. I will try to catagorize my family for you. Some of the older cousins know the details.
