Bishop O’Brien is celebrating 25 years as a Bishop in Hertfordshire. He would like to invite you all to a Family Day at All Saints Pastoral Centre on Saturday 21st September, beginning with Mass at 12 noon.  You are most welcome to picnic in the grounds.  There will be organised games and a bouncy castle.  The highlight of the afternoon will be the judging of the Fancy Dress Competition for the Best Dressed Bishop!

A big THANK YOU to all those who had a hand in the wonderful work around the grounds of the Church and presbytery.  You’ve done a marvellous job and I’m very grateful.  Well done.

World in Sight Appeal  - The ‘Help the Aged’ appeal for used spectacles - The second batch was sent off at the end of July  - 41 pairs of glasses - making a grand total of 202 pairs this year!  Thanks to all who have donated.  You will have given the gift of improved sight to someone in the Third World.

Silver Lining Appeal  At the end of June the big bottle at the back of the Church was again emptied of your contributions and a total of £207 was sent to the Fatima Mission.  This is a great way to support the overseas missions.  Please keep it up!  Thank you.

World’s Largest Coffee Morning  in aid of the MacMillan Nurses will be held this year on Friday 27th September.  Please lend it your support at Elmwood Courd, 65 High Street, Baldock from 10 am to 12 noon.  If you would like to help please contact Mary Conners on Tel: 491027; otherwise just come along!

Home Mission Sunday  Day of Prayer for Evangelisation in England and Wales - 15 September 2002.  Please pray for the work of the Catholic Missionary Society.  Thank you.

Knights of St Columba  We are a nationally-organised body of Catholic men living out our vocation and mission as Catholic laymen.  We aim to work for the welfare of members and their families; to help the Catholic youth develop in Christ.  A member will give a short talk during next month about our work.  The Knights in Letchworth and Baldock meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 8 pm in St Hugh’s

Church Hall.  Why not think about joining?

Knights’ Sponsored Cycle Ride   We wish to thank everyone who supported our 20 mile sponsored cycle ride in July in aid of our projects for charity.  When all sponsorship is collected we will have raised £1500 - Thank you for your kind generosity!

Right to Life  At the back of the Church you will find a petition regarding Euthanasia.  Please take a moment to read the information sheet and add your signature.
