National Archaeology Weekend at Fort Cumberland
17/18th July 2004

As usual, NAS were represented at the National Archaeology Weekend open day at Fort Cumberland in mid-July. Thousands of people took advantage of visiting the Fort, watching the displays and getting involved with the hands-on activities. NAS put on diving displays with the Historical Diving Society in a large diving tank while also running activities in shipwreck surveying and cannon recording. This is an excellent opportunity for NAS to reach a wider section of the Community and 'spread the word' about underwater archaeology, the nations heritage and the work of the NAS.
