Diving with a Purpose


In 2004 NAS returned to Weymouth and Portland in Dorset and worked from charter boat Dive Time, continuing to investigate, monitor and disseminate information on sites of historic and archaeological significance in the region.

During a week of fantastic weather and exceptional underwater visibility, sites under study included:

  • Earl of Abergavenny (1805)
  • Royal Adelaide (1872)
  • Himalaya (1853)
  • Countess of Erne (1935)
  • Enecuri (1900)
  • Unidentified anomalies found during Wreckmap Portland 2003
