General course information

An introduction to foreshore and underwater archaeology.
The minimum diving qualification for this course is CMAS 1 Star, or equivalent, e.g. BSAC Ocean Diver, SAA Open Water Diver, or PADI Open water.

Course fees.
Introductory Course. Normal Fee £50

NAS Part I 'Certificate in foreshore and underwater archaeology' is a 2 day course
The minimum diving qualification for NAS Part I is CMAS 2 Star, or equivalent, e.g. BSAC Sport Diver, SAA Club Diver, or PADI Advanced Open water.

Course fees.
Part I: Normally £110.00, but will depend on local facility and diving fees.
The fee includes a course folder and membership of the NAS for one year normally backdated to the 1st of April in the year of attendance.

Those attending after the 1st January can opt to join the Society from 1st April the following year. Anyone who is already a member of the Society is entitled to a £10.00 reduction in the course fee.

Part II seminar fees are kept as low as possible, but largely depend on local costs, but a typical Part II seminar would cost £25.00.

Part III - accumulation of 100 contact hours of tuition in 6 of 7 subject areas Complete details supplied on request.

Part III Course fees are dependant on local expenses, but are generally between £65.00 for a days course to £150.00 for a weekend using laboratory facilities or remote sensing equipment.

The minimum diving requirement for open-water courses varies depending on the location and content of the course, but will not be less than CMAS 2 Star, or equivalent, e.g. BSAC Sport Diver, SAA Club Diver, or PADI Advanced Open-Water Diver.
