Get to know me

Edward Davey MP

Some residents have made it clear to me that they get a bit fed up with politicians going on all the time about the same old things and I know what they mean - so do I!

Many of you said that apart from knowing what I stand for you also wanted to learn a little about me. So here’s my attempt at sharing the everyday side of my life which you don’t normally see during local visits and meetings. Please see my biography for other details.

I’ve not done this type of section before so any feedback would be welcome.

I moved to Surbiton in 1995 and live in a house in Cleaveland Road.

I don’t get much spare time but, when I do, like everyone else, there are always those jobs to do that just won’t go away.

The nearest shops are just round the corner, though I can't claim to like shopping much.

I like to get out to watch local sports teams as often as I can and there have been some great days out in the past couple of years. The best has to be atmosphere when K’s got to Wembley - twice!

I do get to take two weeks off once a year to go walking around the British Isles. We have such a wonderful countryside.

I lost both my parents when I was still at school but I have two older brothers whose aim in life seems to be taking the micky out of me. I also have my Nanna who I make sure I visit as often as possible. She always tells what the real issues of the day are and is great fun.

Putting this section together was a welcome break from politics and also acted as a good reminder to me of some of the things in my life that really matter.

If you ever need my help then please feel free to contact me.

Best wishes

Edward Davey
