Parliamentary Circle dining clubThe North West Parliamentary Circle is a dining club and policy discussion group that takes place at a good hotel in a different part of the region roughly every three months. Upcoming dates and speakers
We begin with drinks at 7.30 for dinner at eight, followed by a brief introduction of the topic for the evening by one of our Parliamentarians or other interesting speaker and then the topic is thrown open for general discussion. Because the membership is restricted to 50 people, there is plenty of opportunity to have your say. Although our Parliamentarians are very accessible to all our members, this is a special opportunity to discuss, with them and others, matters of current concern, whilst at the same time raising much needed funds for fighting our target seats in the north west. The dinners are quite informal, though we do wear DJs and posh frocks to make them a bit special. They’re great for politics junkies. It’s like being able to go to a private dinner party and not feel guilty about talking politics all night! If a member cannot attend a particular dinner, he/she may send a substitute. You may also bring a guest to any of the dinners at extra cost. However, whenever you decide to join, your subscription will last for a whole year (or 4 dinners). The annual subscription is £200, which covers four dinners from the date you join, including wine before and during the meal. It can be paid all at once or by monthly or quarterly direct debit. Anyone who wishes to join should contact the regional office on 0161 477 0939 for an application form.
