Introduction

We've now reached the real "meat" of underwater photography - composition. This is the aspect that separates two otherwise technically perfect exposures from each other, leaving one "boring" and the other "exciting".

Aims

This lesson will introduce to you, or refresh your knowledge of, underwater photographic composition.

Objectives

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:

• Understand how to spot your subjects
• Understand how to design your photographs
• Understand how to select colours in your pictures
• Understand the framing options open to you.
• Understand positive and negative space
• Understand some specialist wide-angle styles
