Alliance Personnel

Cardassian Union Personnel

  • Legate Norvek [Chris Salmi(GM)]

Sector 17's Military Governor. A man who knows where the bodies are buried (he put quite a few of them there himself ... personally).
    Played by: Jack Nicholson

  • Gul Morrain [Ernie Hunter, ehunter@kolvir.demon.co.uk]

Sector 17's Obsidian Order Co-ordinator and Total B@$t@rd. [Ernie is also Sub GM with responsibility for Obsidian Order affairs].

  • Glin Sulek [Brad Doherty]

Chief of Security and First Officer.

  • High Inquisitor Eilantha Itua [Created by Khat, currently played by Nik Whitehead, Nik@barrayar.demon.co.uk]

She is from the Combined Alliance Operating forces security division with particular responsibility for interrogations, a function she performs with extreme pleasure. A Daughter of the Second House of Betazed and Mistress of Clan Shon'Char of Vulcan, her mixed heritage has predisposed her to incredible telepathic powers.

  • Glin Worznip [NPC]

Starport 17's head of Computer Services and suspected subversive...
Played by: Melvin Hayes [Think "It Ain't Half Hot Mum" ...]

  • Glin G'vin Da'Rhul [NPC]

One of the Senior officers of the Obsidian Order troopers assigned to Starport 17. He is a man of few words, most of them sarcastic.
Played by: Anthony Ainley [In Master mode ...]

Klingon Empire personnel

  • Lord Colonel Balrak [Julie Yakes, greywolf@tir.com]

    Starport 17's Commanding Officer.
Played by: Rodney A. Grant (Wind In His Hair - "Dances with Wolves")
[Julie is also Sub GM with responsibility for Klingon Empire matters]

  • Commander Arlath [Megan (aka Mexal), mcrobertson@cix.co.uk]

Chief of Operations on the Starport. As an albino, he is very distinctive.

  • Lieutenant Gruber [Nik Whitehead, Nik@barrayar.demon.co.uk]

Operations Starport 17, formally of the Tank Corps Gruber is a very nice Klingon. He's neat and tidy, perfectly groomed, and the metalwork on his uniform is always bright and shiny. He's on the small side for a Klingon, rather more slender and less bumpy of forehead than most of his people.
His House is an old one, from Q'onos itself, and his accent and tendency to click his heels together when coming to attention give it away. He enlisted was commissioned into the Imperial Marines, where he spent several happy years both in the Tank Corps and learning the secrets of the combat engineering division.
When his division was sent to the Hydran front he went with them, and like the rest of them, hated it. It was very cold at the Hydran front. Now he's back in the warm at Starport 17 at Operations, a post which allows him to exercise his artistic side in the arrangement of incoming vessels and so on.
    Played by: Guy Siner

Terran Slave Workers

  • Rachel Eileen Saribel Leiani Gelana Abigail Hollie Evison [Created by Don Sharar, don@wam.umd.edu]

Rachel Eileen Saribel Leiani Gelana Abigail Hollie Evison, or Rachel H. Evison, as her shortened name goes, is a 6th generation clone, from a colony similar to the Mariposa colony. The colony ship that her template was on was hit by a meteor shower in (then) deep space the early 2100's. The resulting crash and radiation leaks left the few remaining survivors sterile. Fortunately, they had the technology to clone themselves (what a coincidence!). Knowing the disaster of replicative fading that awaited them, they waited long periods of time between clonings, getting the maximum lifespan out of one clone before making another. No one template had more than one clone in existence at a time, and each successive clone had a name added on to the previous one's, to distinguish them apart. Rachel's template (the original colonist from whom all the others were cloned) was Hollie Evison. The first clone was named Abigail Hollie Evison, the second was Gelana Abigail Hollie Evison, and so on.
They were discovered by the Alliance shortly after its rise to power, and they were immediately used as lab mice to further Alliance cloning technology. When it was discovered that their cloning techniques were no secret, and in fact two centuries outdated, they were cast into the streets with no means of providing for themselves. Rachel, a 6'1", 170 LB, green-eyed, shoulder length strawberry-blonde haired 26 year old clone was one of the lucky ones who found a place to "work". She eventually worked her way to her present position aboard Star Port 17 in Gul Norvek's quarters.

  • Dr M. Thomas Brennan [Randy Ferrance, RFERRANCE@Gems.VCU.EDU

    ]

Dr. M. Thomas Brennan is rather short, with very light, almost blond brown hair, a short cropped beard and mustache. He is a devoted doctor, holding his professional vows above all political affiliations, and is recently widowed, (as you well know, you Cardassian scum :) ) from his 'Vulcan' wife. He is serving as the slave workers' doctor after the discovery of his Maquis wife, only his previous work for a Gul placed prominently in Central Command has kept him alive. It would appear that Tom is wise beyond his apparent years and has a nasty 'Habit' for midnight excursions.
    Played by Kenneth Brannaugh

  • Technician First Class Shona MacLeod [NPC]

Shona MacLeod is a Gamma grade slave worker, and hence amongst the more privileged of the newly arrived workforce at the Starport. She is highly skilled in computer technologies, which aids her sideline - as the one of the higher placed Maquis in the reforming cell at the Starport.
    Played by Susan Saradon

  • Zach Crusher [Simon Barber, sbarber@mcg.co.uk]

Zach is the son of Wesley Crusher, and grandson of Beverly Crusher, personal physician to Legate Dukat, a very powerful figure indeed within the Central Command. This is certainly why he hasn't been executed for being a traitorous Maquis Scum. He used to be an Alpha grade technical worker with science and engineering duties, but was arrested by the Obsidian Order when it came to light he was educating the Gamma, Delta, Epsilon and Theta grade workers with a view to improving their skills and hence their survivability.

  • V'la R'Stal [Nik Whitehead, Nik@barrayar.demon.co.uk]

R'Stal is a professional thief - well, not so much professional as vocational really. He grew up in the Delta grades and gravitated to a life of crime early on. His particular talents lie in getting things open so that he can relieve them of their contents, a skill highly treasured by the Maquis. So much so that one human, jealous of R'Stal's abilities, threatened to thump him is he didn't steal some disruptors, then tipped the guards off about the theft. Since he firmly believes that getting hurt tomorrow is infinitely better than getting hurt today, R'Stal stole the guns but got caught in the process (the Maquis got the guns anyway).
He is a coward, with a very low pain threshold (or as he himself puts it, not really a threshold at all). Nevertheless he is a genius when it comes to circumventing security systems. There's no door he can't open if he's scared enough.
    Played by: Michael Keating

The Rebels

The Maquis

  • Kitanya of the Mikan [Julie Yakes, greywolf@tir.com]

Kitanya, a Caitian, is of the Mikan - the Caitian warrior clan. Whilst nominally neutral, Cait is blockaded by the Alliance to prevent contact with other races. This is a mutual blockade as the Caitians were never conquered by the Terrans, despite their best efforts and are keen on keeping the Alliance out as well. The Alliance feel it unprofitable to destroy the Caitians and or indeed to try and conquer them, and content themselves with containing them. A few idealistic Caitians feel it is their duty to fight tyranny everywhere they see it and have beaten the blockades to join the Maquis. Two such were Kitanya and her mate, M'rrell. They became synonymous with the Maquis on Starport 17 and led the forces there, until their betrayal by Kitanya's trusted lieutenant, James Boulay. M'rrell was executed and Kitanya tortured, shaved of her mane, interrogated and incarcerated deep in the Starport. She was released as part of the operation to free the slave workers.
    Played by: Grace Jones
[Julie has another job as Sub GM with responsibility for Caitian affairs]

  • Captain Thomas Lee [John Bieremann]

A Veteran of the Maquis ...

  • Lissa Kane [Deborah Capuano, magneto@bcfreenet.seflin.lib.fl.us and dcapua@freenet.scri.fsu.edu]

Lissa came from the notorious slave camps on Terra, and witnessed her parents' murder at the hands of a Glin Morrain some 15 years ago. A long standing member of the Maquis since she escaped from the camps in her early teens, she has seen many around her die for the case but is determined that her death will be after Morrain's.

  • Dr Jerry Coyne [Randy Ferrance, RFERRANCE@Gems.VCU.EDU]

Dr Coyne is a long-standing Maquis operative and medical practitioner who came to Starport 17 with Kitanya, serving as part of her cell.

  • Scott Beckett [Geert Zegers, Geert.Zegers@rug.ac.be]

A brilliant Scientist who'd kept this fact from the Alliance for years, Scott had been the plodding lab Technician on the Starport yet secretly working for the Maquis. It was he who'd developed the algorithms that allowed the Indomitable to transit between the Parallel universes using nothing but a plasma discharge and a friendly stable wormhole.
    Played by: Scott Bakula

  • Kathy Davis [NPC]

Kathy is a young Terran whom Zach Crusher befriended when she was working in the engineering section of the Star Port. They became lovers and she was devastated when the Obsidian Order took him away. A fragile personality who has only survived through her technical aptitude and support of friends.
Played by: Shannon Fil [But with a Herefordshire accent ...]

The Free Worlds Alliance

  • Commander Sss'ryte [NPC]

Sss'ryte served as Security chief and Executive officer to Captain Sss'lee aboard the Gorn Battlecruiser 'Right Is Might' over 100 years previously during its fateful encounter with the ISS Kongo. Since that date, he has served as an operative of the Free Worlds Intelligence Corps and most recently as cell leader of Starport 17 Infiltration Unit, and had acted as Norvek's trusted Operations officer until events forced the Free Worlders to reveal their presence.
Physically, he is a lustrous bottle green and of slighter build than most Gorn security officers you might encounter. This still makes him big by humanoid standards. He speaks Standard (Cardassian), Rihannsu and Havrannsu (the two main Romulan tongues) and English with no trace of the normal sibilance expected of a Gorn - think of him as speaking with Anthony Andrews' voice if it helps ... He is surprisingly easy going, and has a irrepressible if warped sense of humour.
    Voice by: Anthony Andrews

  • Erei'riov (Sub-Commander) Shiarrael i-Mhiessan [Nik Whitehead, Nik@barrayar.demon.co.uk]

Originally an officer of the Rihannsu Star Navy, Shiarrael served on the ChR 721 Stormbird during the ill-fated defence of the Empire against the invading Terrans. With the destruction of the Empire and the covert rise of the Free Worlds as its successor she transferred to Free Worlds Intelligence and has worked under various covers within the Alliance ever since. For the last 40 years her field partner has been Sss'ryte Formerly of the Gorn Alliance and now of Free Worlds Intelligence also.
Her original training was in flight and in weapons and, like her mother (the Khre'enriov of the Free Worlds Navy) she is both an excellent pilot and weapons officer. Her father is currently head of Free Worlds Intelligence, and though some have questioned whether, given that her background would make her an excellent hostage, she should work in the field, Shiarrael is a very good spy. :)
She is tall, dark-haired and dark-eyed, with no traces of the heavy brows common to many Rihannsu. After many years spent undercover as a Vulcan she has picked up many Vulcan mannerisms and tends to revert to them when under stress.
    Played by: Michelle Pfeiffer

  • Sss'panna [NPC]

    Young, enthusiastic Gorn Engineering officer.
Voiced by: Keanu Reeves [in "Ted" mode]

  • Sss'tan'lee [NPC]

Gorn Alliance Observer from the Regular Universe. A skilled linguist.
    Voiced by: Angus Deaton

  • Arrain (Centurion) Khiy i-Khnalmae tr'Ahnt [Nik Whitehead, Nik@barrayar.demon.co.uk]

Tr'Ahnt is the Regular universe's Free Worlds technical advisor sent to the Mirror universe by Ambassador t'Lhaihtrha. He is a helmsman first and foremost, although like most helm/navigation specialists he has had some training in weaponry.
Before his current 'posting' he was assigned to Ambassador t'Lhaihtrha as her personal pilot based at the Rihannsu embassy on Starbase 10. The Indomitable is much more to his liking - more action, more adrenaline, more chances for fame and glory.
Tr'Ahnt is one of those rare curly-haired vulcanoids which makes him difficult to miss in a crowd. Although he originates in another reality he feels that it is his duty as a rihanha to prevent the destruction of the Rihannsu people no matter what universe they happen to be in.
