Discuss LibDem e-Campaigning issues online

Offline campaigningUntil recently, computers have been mostly used within the Liberal Democrat party for 'offline' campaigning (i.e. not using the internet). This has covered several areas including:Desktop publishing and word processingMany people use their computers to produce newsletters or the artwork for Focus leaflets. Contact ALDC on 01422 843785 or via email for information on how to produce winning leaflets (in the unlikely event that you haven't already). You can find useful Liberal Democrat artwork files on CIX, or buy it on disk from Artwork on Disk.Campaigning and Fundraising SoftwareEARS is a computer program for campaigning and fundraising. The first version was written in 1983 and since then it has become the most widely used campaign software within the Liberal Democrats. The EARS team are a voluntary, non-profit making group with the sole aim of helping you win elections by writing powerful software that is easy for volunteers to use.EARS provides a means of putting to practical use the electoral roll of your area by holding it in computer readable form and providing powerful sorting, filtering and printing features. It can print canvass cards for you with the polling district split into usable groups, (known as walks), and even the house order within these walks can be changed to provide the correct sequence. When you have completed a canvass the cards can be reprinted to perhaps only show those who were out on the first canvass or to allow for a recanvass of undecided voters. The results of each canvass are input into the system through easily used screen displays. EARS does not stop at easing the burden of canvassing. It can produce delivery lists, labels, address pre-printed letters, and even produce complete letters with electoral information inserted in the correct places. It also provides a complete system for polling day itself allowing the input of tellers information and producing accurate statistics based both on canvass results and turnout on the day. It is easy to use and requires no knowledge of computers to run. For more details, prices and even a demo disc contact Terry Channings either by email or telephone 01503 272014.
