At 5pm on 12 April 1997, Frontierland was closed to prepare for an invite-only
party held for visiting celebrities, 1000 disadvantaged children and the
park's 'twins' (babies born at the same time that the park first opened
its doors). |

Main Street remained open to party guests only for a special fireworks
display at 10pm - and what spectacular show! More fireworks were used than
for any previous DLP event, and for the first time they were launched from
five sites to give a full 360 degree coverage. |
