The COMPACT 101 has been designed
to provide a Timed mains power source which may be switched on
for a predetermined period. The COMPACT 101 may be used to provide
the accurately timed power requirements for the Heidolph Stirrer
as used in Sludge preparation for the WRc PFT METER. The
accurate and stable timing feature is achieved by the use of a
high frequency programmable crystal oscillator which is independent
of the mains supply frequency. To provide a reliable power switching
a solid state Triac device is used with interference protection.
The COMPACT 101 control panel
has been designed to provide simple operation of the unit. Push
buttons are used to select the required time period on a four
digit display, each digit may be preset independently to give
a time period from 0.1 second to 999.9 seconds to an accuracy
of 0.1 seconds. The Compact 101 may be set to either '
TIMED 'or 'CONTINUOUS ' operation. The Timer operation is started
by push button, and commences from the preset value and proceeds
to count down to zero, when the mains power output is switched
off. If required at any moment during the timing period the power
output may be terminated by operating a reset button.
The COMPACT 101 may be operated
with a mains supply of 110 / 120 v 60Hz or 220 / 240V 50Hz as
required, this is factory set and must be specified when ordering.
To maintain its solid state reliability
the COMPACT 101 printed circuit board has been environmentally
protected with a Modified Silicone Conformal Coating. To ensure
the COMPACT 101 retains its reliability and sensitivity,
regular Quality Assurance Steps are taken during its manufacture.
These culminate in a final performance calibration with laboratory
equipment that is traceable back to National Standards. To maintain
this high standard we recommend the COMPACT 101 be returned
for re-calibration every 12 months.
