SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS
Strand Theatre, London WC2
Opened 16 December, 1990

All the usual sniggers and groans, cheers and boos are here, but where this sumptuous show excels is in the "oohs" and "aahs" department. Against a series of lavish settings, Marti Caine's Red Queen slinks and hisses her way to domination of the Seven Kingdoms, whilst Snow White hides with her new friends gypsies, dwarfs and cute woodland creatures deep in the Far Forest. Narrator Derek Griffiths meanwhile weighs in with a series of cameos ranging from a gypsy king to a helpful owl. If it's spectacle you're after, this is for you.
