SMITH BOWLED OVER BY SCOTTISH CRICKET VICTORY

Iain Smith, Liberal Democrat MSP, has lodged a motion in the Scottish
Parliament congratulating Scotland's national cricket team on winning the
ICC Intercontinental Cup.
In his motion, Mr Smith said that the team's 'landmark' success in winning
the Cup was 'well deserved'. The Motion has received support from across
the political parties.
Speaking from Holyrood, Iain Smith said:
"We should all send our warmest congratulations to Scotland's cricket team
for winning the ICC Intercontinental Cup.
"This landmark win for our national team is well-deserved and shows
Scotland's increasing strength in this sport.
"I am also pleased to see that MSPs from across the parties in the Scottish
Parliament have supported my Motion congratulating the team.
"Scotland's cricket team now needs our continued support to progress and go
on to further successes, particularly in next year's qualification for the
Cricket World Cup."
