Cromwell
Road This is a 78-bed hostel for single homeless men ages between 17 and 65. Its client are mainly street homeless people; the aim is that they will move on to other accommodation with support. St Mungo's resettlement staff operate a programme which aims to move on residents into more appropriate accommodation within one year of admission. Cromwell Road, therefore, does not represent permanent accommodation for clients. Residents come to the hostel through St Mungo's CAT team and other referrals. Services
offered include general
rehabilitation and support through keyworking and careplanning. The hostel
has a
three-bed mobility unit, a seven-bed detox unit, a six-bed multi-needs
unit and a four-bed 'wet' unit for heavy drinkers. Around 200
people come into the hostel each year, and around 50 are resettled into
move-on accommodation.
