Sangsara (the world of perceived phenomena), was written between 1977 and 1978 and given its first performance at the Humberside Theatre (now Spring Street Theatre), Hull. in 1978. After another performance a year later, the piece was revised (mainly reducing the duration from 4 hours to 2 hours 55 minutes).
