Labour leader vote collapses in South Acton: Lib Dems the biggest beneficiaries

In the 2002 Borough Elections, Labour leader John Cudmore saw his vote sharply and shift to the Lib Dems.

Local Lib Dem campaigner Catherine Royce commented "This reflects deep dissatisfaction with Labour's poor consultation over the Priory Centre, the poor state of lighting and litter in Acton and residents' concerns about the council's plans for the South Acton estate. We also believe that our commitments to improve lighting and the environment in Ealing - and to open up council decision making - really connected with local voters, especially former Labour voters".
