Joker Command FAQ's
Question: |
Answer: |
What is a Joker Command? |
It is a code which monitors a position in RAM and
activates the code below it when a preset value is detected. |
What is a Joker Command used for? |
It is used to avoid lockups during the intros or
various places in the game, or when you only want to activate codes at a
certain time and not constantly have the effect of the code. |
Can you activate all codes from a Joker
Command? |
Yes but only with the Action Replay. All you have
to do, is put the Joker Command Code in the Master Code Section, otherwise, it
will just turn on the code that is below it. |
How do I find my own Joker Commands? |
This is written assuming you have the
Xplorer cheat cartridge and the Xlink software and you are trying to find the
controllers memory address. The procedure should be similar for the Action
Replay
- Use 'Start game with Cheats ON' option on the
Xplorer.
- Start the Xlink software but do not 'begin' training
yet.
- When the game is running press the 'Begin' button in
Xlink.
- Let the game run for a few seconds.
- Without pressing any buttons on the controller; press the
'Equal' button in Xlink
- Press and hold a button on the controller then press the
'Different' button in Xlink.
- Let the game run for a few seconds.
- Press and hold the same button on the controller then
press the 'Equal' button in Xlink.
- Let the game run for a few seconds.
- Without pressing any buttons on the controller; press the
'Different' button in Xlink.
- By now you should have the controllers addresses, if not
then go back to step 5.
When you have the controllers address it will be something
like '8009D123', to change this into a Joker
Command change the first digit to a '7' for the
Xplorer or a 'D' for the Action Replay and
that's it. |
Once I have a Joker Command, how do I use
it? |
Well if you are using the controller to activate
the Joker Command and it is in a regular code box, not the Master Code section,
then work out the value of the button/s you want to press from the Quantity
Digits below, the value that you arrive at is the code for the Joker Command.
When you press the button/s inside of the game, it will activate the code you
have put in under the Joker Command code. If if was put in the Master Code
Section it would activate all codes when that button was pressed! |
If entering a Joker Command in Normal Code
Section. |
Be sure to enter the code that you want the Joker
Command to activate RIGHT UNDERNEATH the Joker Command Code! |
EXAMPLE USAGE |
Say you have Infinite Health for a game. the
Infinite Health code is, 8012C04C 00AA, and the
Joker Command is D0012876 ????, it is a Normal
Joker Command in the game and Select doesn't do anything! Well, take a look at
the Quantity Digits and you will see that Select is value
0100 for a Normal Joker Command. So you enter
the following codes, D0012876 0100 and under it
8012C04C 00AA. Now when you are in the game
with this code on, when you press Select it will refill your energy! Or if you
hold Select and no other buttons it will give you Infinite Health! HOWEVER,
once you let go of Select, you will no longer have Infinite Health, Until you
press Select again. |
